Syed Mustafa Mehmud is Director of JDW Sugar Mills Limited and comes from a family with a long-standing political legacy. He has done BSc Economics from University of Essex, UK.
His grand-father, Makhdoomzada Syed Hassan Mahmud, remained a political leader at the National level. He served as Chief Minister of Bahawalpur before the creation of one unit. Mustafa’s father, Syed Ahmad Mahmud had served as Governor of the Punjab during the years 2012-13.
Mustafa had continuously been elected as Member National Assembly of Pakistan from Rahim Yar Khan in by-elections of 2012, general elections of 2013 and then in general elections of 2018. Presently he is Chairman of Standing Committee on Privatization in the National Assembly of Pakistan.
He had also served as member of the Finance Committee in the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2013-2018. Syed Mustafa Mehmud is also running modern and progressive agri farms as family business.
